The global crises has triggered a search for the construction of a new paradigm that is capable of bringing environmental, social, economic and political sustainability to the processes underway on the planet. The seeds of this change – that aim to transform the mechanistic conception of reality into a holistic one - are already visible in diverse social, environmental and political initiatives, such that the theme of Sustainability currently dominates discussions. From these discussions, connections have been born in diverse spheres giving life to a change of values, concepts and practices in the local and global environment.
There is still a great deal of transformation to be instigated, such that humanity, in the beginning of the 21st century must continue to ask itself:
What social, economic, political and environmental parameters are to be adopted in the construction of a more sustainable development model? What should be done to reach this model?
